Vaccinations
Routine vaccinations for dogs, cats and other small animals, plus boosters and starter courses for new and rehomed pets.
Vaccination is vital in protecting your pet from key infectious diseases that cause pain, distress and can be life-threatening.
Annual preventative healthcare and vaccination appointments provide an opportunity for regular health checks for your pet and an understanding of their needs.
Neutering
Neutering is a surgical procedure which takes away a pet’s ability to reproduce. It is known as spaying in females and castration in males.
Neutering pets can be beneficial for their health and wellbeing, as well as preventing unplanned litters.
Microchipping
Microchipping is a safe and permanent way of identifying your pet and is the best way to ensure that they can be returned to you if they are lost or stolen.
Many pets can be microchipped, including dogs, cats, rabbits and a variety of other species.
Flea, tick and worm treatment
When it comes to fleas, worms and ticks, prevention is better than cure. Speak to our team so we can help you work out your pet’s individual needs.

Travel advice, documentation and preparation to help you and your pet to travel safely and without difficulty.
Dental care
We can offer advice on optimal dental hygiene, as well as procedures if and when action is necessary.
When your pets visit us they will routinely undergo a full clinical examination, which includes looking inside their mouths and at their teeth.

In-house emergency care
About our emergency service
To ensure that you and your pet can access support from a familiar, trusted team, we deliver our own emergency service.
This service runs from our Thurles branch, meaning you and your pet won’t have to travel somewhere unfamiliar when you need urgent care.
The branch has modern, comfortable inpatient facilities for pets requiring overnight care, as well as full surgical and diagnostic facilities.Â
Should your pet need to stay with us overnight, they will be monitored by the duty veterinary surgeon, and you will be kept fully informed of their progress.
Surgery
Our Thurles branch has modern diagnostic, surgical and anaesthetic facilities, including a dedicated operating theatre and equipment for orthopaedic surgeries.
About our surgery facilities
- Before your pet’s surgery, we will talk you through their procedure and answer any questions you might have.
- Pets require a period of fasting prior to admission. This is usually 12 hours, but your vet will advise on the fasting your pet needs based on their individual condition.
- On arrival, each patient receives a health check and pain relief before surgery.
- Most pets are discharged after 4pm, with owners receiving home-care instructions and any required medication.
Blood tests
We offer onsite routine blood tests, as well as blood pressure monitoring.
About routine blood tests
Pre-operative blood testing helps us to identify underlying conditions that could affect your pet’s safety during anaesthesia.
Tests can be performed a few days before or on the day of the procedure, with results available in around 30 minutes at our Thurles clinic.
We recommend that all pets over the age of five have a pre-operative blood test. The results, together with your pet’s age, breed and any health conditions they have, help us to develop the safest anaesthetic plan for them.
Home visits
Home visits are available Monday to Friday during normal clinic hours, where suitable. These are useful for clients and pets who find it harder to visit us.
Diagnostics
Our Thurles branch is home to an in-house laboratory, as well as digital x-ray and ultrasound facilities. We also have a dedicated dental suite with dental x-ray.
Nurse clinics
Our friendly nursing team offers advice on many aspects of your pet’s care at convenient times, providing services such as suture removal, microchipping and nail clipping.
Specialist support
We have excellent working relationships with external veterinary specialists, who we can refer to when your pet requires more complex care.
